Grease selection principles
To select the type and viscosity of grease according to the specific conditions of the lubricating parts, the following factors must be considered:
① Use function: Grease is required for lubrication, sealing or protection, and the corresponding type of functional grease is selected.
② The temperature, load and speed (working conditions) of the lubricating parts should be high-consistency grease at high temperature, extreme pressure grease at high load, and grease with low base oil viscosity at high speed.
③ Longevity (that is, service life) requires long-life grease that does not need to be replaced for a long time.
④ Lubrication method: artificially filled with slightly thicker grease, and concentrated pumping lubrication should use lower consistency grease or even semi-fluid grease.
⑤ Medium: Use special grease for contact with water and corrosive media, such as water-resistant grease and coal-resistant grease.
